What to expect
COMFORT AND CONFIDENCE IN YOUR TREATMENT
During your initial visit, we’ll review your medical and dental history to be informed of any circumstances which may affect treatment. In the exam, we’ll measure your "pocket depth", determine your risk for further loss of support, check for any loose teeth, and examine any contributing factors. Your referring doctor will typically forward x-rays or other information relevant. The exam fee will cover any additional diagnostic items like new x-rays, photos, or impressions to allow for a thorough review of current needs (if cone beam computerized tomography imaging is needed- your quote should include this cost). This visit is about 45 minutes to one hour. We strive to be on time to value your time! Insurance claims will be filed complimentary for you. Being "fee-for-service", we ask your insurance company to reimburse you directly. If you prefer to complete new patient paperwork at the office, please arrive 15 minutes before your reserved appointment. Our goal is for you to leave the consultation with an understanding of your needs, cost, time-line, and your questions answered to your satisfaction.

Dr. Ravenel is a natural teacher and wants to share the "why and how" of your treatment needs. In asking and answering questions, we can arrive at a treatment goal which includes you into the decision-making process. She will be talking with you as compared to talking to you.

In 2003, Dr. Ravenel returned home to Greenville, providing periodontal care in Greenville and surrounding areas. She has started two businesses successfully and worked for a few well-respected dental specialists in between starting businesses. The benefit over the past two decades comes from reflection on what is working well for her and drawing insight from her valued colleagues. Diversity of ways to practice have enabled her perspective - seeing more than one way to accomplish a goal. She’s a member of the American Dental Association, the South Carolina Dental Association, the American Academy of Periodontology, and the Southern Academy of Periodontology. Continuing education is a priority to Dr. Ravenel, ensuring new technologies and procedures are available to her patients.
